Guy Calhoun
Guy Calhoun"We are each of us born with a creative spark; we enter this world full of potential and if we are lucky some of what we aspire to can be realised. Life unfolds in cycles and each time we go through change we have the opportunity to learn, and the things we experience can inform us and become part of the work we do.

I began writing and performing because I loved doing it, and to this day I still find it the most honest form of communication and a way to give something back for the great gift that is music."

Molly Samson
Molly Samson .....fairy-tales for grown-ups and love songs for the hard of heart.....
Funkinsteins
Funkinsteins"Funkinsteins the band has had various successful line ups, and has worked with many talented people, but this line up is by far the best. Being in a band is for us like being in a crack commando unit; work hard, funk hard and watch each other's back......." SW

"I love all music that has groove and feeling. Funkinsteins is our greatest achievement as a powerful original funky live band and in the last couple of years we have gigged over 150 gigs and performed at some great festivals. Very proud and funky. May it continue....." AP

"I've played many a gig, from Scout huts to Glastonbury Festival, and after a plethora of originals bands, from live drums and bass, to rock (which kinda suited my upbringing of rave and funk), I found myself seeking something new and exciting with the drive and professionalism that matched my own. And luckily enough I happened upon the Funkinsteins, drummer hunting. And as they say, the rest is history, or history yet to be written." JC

Chris D'Avoine
Chris D'Avoine''It’s all about music. From the tiny fuzzy improbable things that stick together to make matter, to gravity, stars and planets and black holes to the thoughts and dreams of every living soul, it all works on sympathetic vibration, so everything’s about music really." CD
Mystery Slang
Mystery Slang''The pleasure of picking up a record (or cd) and looking at both sides of it, and the edge, and the inside, booklet etc is a completely different feeling to what....down-loading a tune onto your phone.....?
Just as science is discovering that there might be up to eleven dimensions, we are living (it would seem) mainly in two!
Bringing back the need for tactility seems a must to me. From a very early age the first thing a baby does is rotate an object in his or her hands and even put it in his or her mouth - food is a three dimensional experience, as is everything we touch or taste or stand on, and yet the eyes seem to have it at present....
A while back I played a game called Guitar Hero with my daughter, at which she was great and I was useless; now that's ironic."

Steve Payne
Steve Payne Variously described as one of the UK's most unique and versatile guitarists, Steve Payne is also feted as a talented and non-predictable singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, wordsmith and story-teller whose compositions cross the musical boundaries from Blues to Folk to Contemporary Roots.

''There doesn't seem a lot of point in advertising that my past collaborations, appearances and bill-sharing were with such eminences as BB King, Dr John, Robert Cray, Los Lobos, Dave Mason (Traffic), Watermelon Slim (not to mention from the folk world Paul Brady, Loudon Wainwright, Steve Tilston, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Rosie Hardman  etc.) and an Ontario tour with David Knopfler / Dire Straits in 2006....that was then, let's move on..." Tanja Rice
Tanja Rice It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely death of our artist and friend, Tanja Rice. After battling with cancer with great fortitude for some months, she was finally overwhelmed Thursday night, 21st July 2011, comforted by her father Ken and partner Steve. While we will all miss her, Tanja leaves behind her the legacy of a beautiful 2 year old daughter, her music and many memories of better days. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family, partner and friends...

A chanteuse in the true sense of the word, Tanja has had a rich and varied background and her performances, style and song writing are a testament to that.

Brought up on a musical diet of Country and Blues, Tanja has transformed herself into someone who can not only readily interpret in her own unique style a song from the likes of Gillian Welch or Alison Krauss but who can also compose songs which are memorable musical pieces, haunting in some cases, and still have an obviously enduring quality.
Shar-Baby
Shar-Baby "Happenstance" - noun - a chance circumstance - as in the following example:

- when a guest artist informed Terry Clear and partner Yasmin, organisers of the inaugural Coin Acoustic Blues Festival in Andalucia, of his unavailability and put forward Shar-Baby as a worthy replacement;
- when Steve Payne of Digitdoc Records was appearing on the same bill;
- when his fellow Digitdoc directors were able to fly out to Spain to support the festival because it was Easter, a long week-end;
- when all of the above stayed at the same hotel.

And here's the result. We are delighted to bring this great exponent of Delta Blues to your attention, and while this was the first time Shar and her husband Jim visited anywhere outside the USA, rest assured it won't be the last.

Steve Westaway
Steve Westaway Born in November 1947 in Bristol, England. Steve studied as teacher of English and Drama. He relocated to Germany in November 1979 and currently lives in Worpswede near Bremen.

''I call my music "Acoustic Music" as I cannot find another label to pin on myself. My roots are in the different musical influences that I have experienced, - blues, folk, classical, jazz - that I have taken on board in my currently 60 years of living, together with playing the various acoustic guitars that I own.

I try to combine my own text with the warm sound of the acoustic guitar - sometimes enhanced with the sounds of the other musicians who I am honoured to have play with me - and try to create an atmosphere sometimes of warmth and relaxation, sometimes with strong rhythms, sometimes melancholic, that I hope will touch your heart.

As an Englishman living in Germany I still sing in the language of my heart."

Noah Zacharin
Noah Zacharin Noah Zacharin was born in Montreal and resides in Toronto. He was given his first guitar at age 9, wrote his first song at 13, began performing at 14, and is happy to say that he still loves playing music.

''I don't play folk music. I think it's not accurate and it's very limiting; I find the effect is that it means ears have already closed." NZ

Domenico Lombardo
Domenico Lombardo Originating from Sicily, Domenico's interest in music began in early childhood, and by eight years old he had already successfully participated in a children's festival and started his love affair with the guitar. There followed a couple of appearances on Italian television, and he soon began writing his own songs. Now based in Stuttgart, Domenico brings an Italo-Germano mix to our offerings.
